If the conditions are good, the single at MRG could be climbing the hill.

I think Mt. Snow, Stratton and Okemo might be good contenders. I heard Mt. Snow was so packed this past weekend, that a couple who drove up from Ct. drove into the parking lot and when they saw how crowded it was, left and drove back down to Berkshire East.

On that note, Berkshire East could have the shortest.

Longest: Tram at Jay or Single at MRG if it is a powder day (not quite "any given")

Shortest: For a 2k vert mountain, Willoughby Quad at Burke. For non-2k vert mountains, there are tons that do not have a line ever at certain lifts. That would be a very long list.

Kancamagus express at Loon is the worst I've seen. I refuse to ski over there at all on any weekend day.

Obviously many of the best lifts to ride will have long lines. And many lifts that don't have lines, don't for a good reason. So the next question is, what's the lift with no line that has the best skiing? In other words, the reason for no line is not a good reason? For example, Berkshire East being slightly out of the way and not getting much natural snow. But most of the time there's great skiing to be had with little or no wait.

You guys who quoted Mt. Snow are crazy...not a short line by any means, but the longest?

Longest: Stratton Gondola, American Express at Stratton, Stowe Gondola, ForeRunner Quad at Stowe, Northstar Express at Okemo, or Jackson Gore Express at Okemo

Shortest: North Peak Express at Ascutney, Sun Mountain Express at Bromley, Vista Quad at Bolton Valley, North Face lifts at Mount Snow

I tried to limit the lift to modern or semi-modern lifts (not rickety doubles ignored for good reason). And I mostly ride the singles lines, so I am not necessarily warranting how the regular lines move, though I think they are related.

skied Stowe twice this winter on Saturdays. Never waited more than 5 minutes in the singles line on the Gondola, never more than 10 at the Quad.

Maybe times have change, but when I was in college, late 90's, those two lifts were brutal on Saturdays. 20-30 minute waits were the norm with busier days hitting 45 minutes. I almost never rode the Gondi because of it. Maybe those $89 lift tickets are driving the crowds away.
