HANCOCK, Massachusetts -- The 2007/2008 winter season was a record-setting year for Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. The resort saw a record 255,387 skier visits, beating the previous record set in 1992/1993 of 241,520. Seven other records were also set throughout the season including a new day skier visit record on Sunday, February 17th and a new SkiWee record.

Jiminy Peak President and CEO Brian Fairbank said, "The 2007/2008 winter was a phenomenal season for Jiminy Peak and, in turn, for this Berkshire region. The influx of skiers and riders to the region really provides a boost for tourism and local businesses during the winter months. We would like to thank everyone who came out to enjoy winter in the Berkshires this season and we are looking forward to a great summer season as well."

"The Berkshire Visitors Bureau congratulates Jiminy Peak for setting new performance records for the 2008 ski season," stated Lauri Klefos, the organization's president. "The Berkshires were fortunate to have a winter season that had solid snowfall and weather conducive for making snow. As a result, many of the region's winter activity attractions experienced an increase over their numbers from last year." According to Klefos traffic on the Berkshire Visitors Bureau's website, berkshires.org, was up nearly 40% and the region's occupancy and revenue per available room (RevPAR) were up in the months of January through March.

Jiminy Peak is the largest ski and snowboard resort in southern New England, summer home to Mountain Adventure Park and the only mountain resort in North America to generate its own energy using alternative wind power. For more information visit www.jiminypeak.com.
