You missed mine too...it's all about personal responsibility and making sure YOU know the story and any consequences.

What you just said makes no more sense than hearing a resort advertising "packed powder" and thinking the snow is going to be soft and fluffy.

Jim, have you ever been a professional pretzel make, cause I see you love to twist things :smash:

Well, in my defense you did say something about putting your faith in a ski resort.

Different perspective: when I first went out west to ski I went to Aspen. People were complaining it hadn't snowed much lately. There seemed to be a ton of snow to me. Next day, I get to the lift and there's a warning sign at the liftline about "icy conditions". Crap I figured, I fly west to ski on ice. I never skied any ice that day; never found anything that resembled ice. But the locals were convinced it was icy and didn't ski.

I'm sure to them it was ice. To me it was totally off the wall misinformation.

Just shows you the difference in outlooks. Here it's called packed powder and a pick-axe would barely dent it. There it's called ice and nary a scraping sound is to be heard. Here's a test for the local yahoos - if you jump on it and it doesn;t sink three inches, it's not packed powder. Really.

And here it's called powder, whereas there it's called cement.

That should start something going.

That's true, but you could sue the ski area for just about anything......"it caused emotional damage to me when all the people laughed when I fell on the big jump, so I'm suing for 1,000,000 dollars"......

Right, but shouldn't the ski area try and cover it's butt whenever possible? A strict closed trail/out of bounds policy is a pretty inexpensive way to avoid legal fees.
