Headed up to K after the crazy X-mas stuff was over. As soon as we arrived our laptop fell out of the car and hit the snow. After getting unpacked I started it up and realized the backlight went out in the fall

The first three days were not great with hardpack and some ice. The trees needed much snow as well as the natural snow trails so we stuck to the groomers. One great thing this year is my older daughter took a big step forward in her skiing and now we are skiing together all over the mountain which is just a blast.

Sunday night we got about 8 to 10 inches of Powder!!! Got on the phone with a friend that night and landed first chair Monday. The first 5 runs were some of the best I have had in a long time, but the natural snow trails still needed more snow. The moguls were mostly ice covered up by the pow which made skiing them not much fun...Some of the trees were coming along nice though. Towards the end of the day the ice was showing its face again but we new once they groomed it would be gone.

Tuesday was a very sweet day with no ice and great groomers in the am. Around 9:30 it started to dump and it did all day and into the night with around 12inches total. The skiing got better every hour and the natural trails as well as the trees were the place to be from 1 pm on. Fresh track were had all day since it was New Year's at the place was empty.

We were going to head back Wednesday but the skiing was so good we decided to stay an extra day. We stayed mostly on the natural trails and took a few runs in the trees which were all really nice. Great trip, and skiing with my daughter all over the mountain made my day. Pics are up!!

Killington - 12/31/2007

First post to the board, although I've kept my trips to myself and friends on my own little journal blog for a few years now....

We had planned on day tripping somewhere in VT for new years eve and new years day, but the last minute invite from some friends up at Killington sealed the deal....

Similar report for 12/31, Great first few runs but the ice underneath came through early.
Full Report here.....

From reading your post of new years day, we made the wrong decision to drive the Prius(Pathy needs some work) home on new years and spent 5 hours in the car instead of on the snow.... Not my choice, but we had to be back for work for Wednesday and from the forecast we probably wouldn't have made it back in time..... Glad someone got to enjoy the pow! I had some great early season pow days already though, so I wasn't hungry enough to break the new year in right, yet.... This thaw is getting me thirsty though!
