Just an FYI. The Killington Endless Winter Web page (page showing historical open/close dates and season snowfall) is gone from their Web site. Somebody archived the data here:

http://www.snowdaze.com/killington-historical-snowfall.php

The winter website is currently being re-built on a new platform. One of the many things since changing ownership is changing our webhosting, which took place last week with the summer site. The new winter website will be up and running (hopefully) by Labor Day Weekend. I will return the Endless Winter Page in some fashion along with historical snowfall records on the new website.

Dollars to donuts those open/close dates don't return.

Well, I'm adding them back to wikipedia, and keeping a copy of the text so that I can just drop it back in instead of having to type it all in if it "vanishes" from there again.

One thing I find really cool about killington is the fact that they open early and close late. Oct or Nov-June is awesome. Although the last 2 yrs have been a little weak, staying open late Nov-Early May. Hopefully they get back on track with that this yr.

RobA, I guess you have not heard that POWDR the new management team at Killington has stated that they will open mid November and close mid April depending on weather conditions. Most of us K regulars are very saddened about this since we have fond memories of great skiing late season and also some very good skiing early season.

No I'm new to this forum and was unaware of this. That is horrible, Killington was always known as the place that stayed open when all the others closed. Especially last yr when places like Stratton closed after a huge storm despite having tons of snow, and Killington took advantage of it. It saddens me to hear this, and hopefully the new management will lighten up come April. They will lose loyal customers that like to ski for a long time, and lose money by closing early.

Thanks for the update. Good to hear that data will return.

Thanks Greg, you saved me the chore of whipping up the flames again.

I've been absent from those threads for a day or two because I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow and don't want to start things I can't finish.

Hmmm, Killington's webmaster calls himself Spinmaster? That's refreshingly frank.

Let's cut some slack, okay fellas? This type of attitude is what's souring Tom from K-zone a bit. Tom and Dave are most likely the messengers and not the decision makers so let's take the aim off them. Perhaps if we remain civil and provide constructive criticism, we might see some changes. Or maybe not, but snide comments are going to just drive the K reps away so let's take the high road. Getting direct access to some information (even if we don't like it) is better than nothing.

I think Mapnut's comment was hysterical. You have to admit that using Spinmaster as a handle is just an invitation for such comments. I appreciate the comment for what it was. Newpylong and Mapnut can speak for themselves, but I for one am not going to sensor my comments about ski areas while posting online. Reps should take note that many ski areas are spoken very highly of online (here on AZ and else where) for frank, honest, direct, and admirable service and communications. Spinmaster and other reps have nothing to fear if their respective areas deliver.

I'm not asking anyone to censor anything. I simply suggested civil discussion and constructive criticism, both of which you don't normally have any problem with, Steve. I, too, do not think Newpy's and Mapnut's comments crossed the line, but I quoted them to make a point. Check out some of the crap Tom gets on K-zone. I'm just trying to circumvent that here. There are more ski area reps here than on any other skiing forum that I know of. I like to think that the mods nudging the discussions a bit above the elementary level has encouraged that.

RobA, there is a forum strictly for Killington. If you are interested, go to www.killingtonzone.com and register.
