Post wasnt directed at you. Just a general observation based on your comment that kids love skiing. You are lucky, your kids share your passion. Hell, your wife shares or exceeds your passion for skiing. I guess you have the hat trick going on that front. I hope my kids take to it also. But if they dont, so be it.

It's not so much the skiing part that they'll take to early on; it's just the out doing something with their dad part. Last year, actual on slope time was about 50% of the skiing "experience" with my daughter who was 3 going on 4 at the time. The rest was playing in the snow, snack time in the lodge, people watching, etc. You really need to let them dictate how the day will go; at least early on. The passion will develop naturally over time most likely.

I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. my wife works about 3 friday/saturday night graveyard combos a month. She has to sleep all day after the night shift. That leaves me as a single parent on most weekends. I learned quickly how to balance their activities with my sanity.

Actually, one of the most enjoyable times was when they were 3 and I was using the leash. They both loved that, I would let them go as fast as they wanted, didn't worry about turns at all.

When my daughter was 4-5 she would love the ride up to the summit and just take in the view. She even convince us to let her try going up the summit at Monadnock during a hike, I ending up carrying her on the way down because she got really tired.

I don't have kids, but I know several parents who WERE diehard skiers and they had kids and that was it. It ended. They use that as an excuse on why they don't ski.
I'm just the opposite. If it wasn't for my 2 kid's I never would have taken up sking. They wanted to learn to ski and board and I figured what the hell, might as well try it. Now were all hooked.
