Listened to the interview with Mike Solimano on the Storm Skiing podcast. Interesting comment he made that their goal/strategy would be for everyone to buy the beast 365 pass.

Thinking about it this way it makes sense why they seem to deliberately minimize benefits to their regular pass (eg - zero reciprocity at other Powdr resorts, lower discount on food etc) and also why we are seeing such large increases in kticket pricing etc.

For sure if someone uses the summer products it is probably a great deal, but i also understand why it would be frustrating for someone who does not use the summer products and would like reciprocity or would prefer to use the K-Tickets a handful of times per year.

According to Killington’s own Download podcast, Steve the snowmaking control room operator says the pipe and all hydrants on Devil’s Fiddle was replaced this summer. They’re intending to run it this winter.

It's a great thing. It's been talked about on K-Zone a bit. DF should not be a natural trail. Horrible exposure, too rocky, too wide. It was designed for snowmaking from day 1.

Funny how they let Bear go to shit in the mid-00s and now it's poised to be one of the most invested in spots on the mountain. Snowmaking on the Fiddle, the new condos, new lodge plan still in the works, BMMC back to it's former glory. Love to see it.

I skied Outer Limits 5x or more a day when I was at K as a teen. Made me the relatively decent bump skier I am today, that is certain.

The pipe was not replaced afaik, but repaired in addition to all the new hydrants.

Just as if not more significant is the news that the Skyeship Lodge was completely gutted due to flooding and will essentially be new inside, modelled after the Peak Lodge. New layout, new tables and chairs, couches, bar. As I come from the East and start my day there, this makes me super happy. It was long in the 🦷 and due for a refresh.

And that is expected to be completed by late December? Will they still be subbing out the food and bev down there?

3. Season pass prices have finally risen to what they were in the mid 00s and earlier. Why we're complaining is beyond me. Especially given labor and energy prices are 3-5x more now than they were then.

Not sure if you were referring to me as the condo owner complaining about pass pricing or not, but i really am not complaining so much as recognizing that the Killington pass is honestly not priced that competitively when compared to the benefits of what some surrounding mountains passholders get.

Now - as mentioned before, it would probably be better for crowds and overall experience if the Ikon and Epic passes were priced at a higher price point.

I would assume so since that is when the lodge opens typically. While it sounds like substantial work, since the mechanical will likely remain largely as-is I would think the timeline would be achievable.

Dunno if F&B is being contracted out again.

Right?! Going on what now, almost 20 years?
Something crazy like that. With this concept and interconnect and all the mess that’s gone back and forth on exacts.

I think the big issue under the rug is the actual ski area seems to be lacking in needed Capitol. Maybe waiting on what happens with this village thing. Sure they did 2 big, nice restaurants - but all the competition is doing lifts and snowmaking every year. Killy needs some lift love….

Imo none of the fixed grips at K are in need of upgrades. A new Ramshead lift should be the first priority, as well as a Skyeship overhaul. After that, Superstar and Snowshed should be looked at.

Yeah. Canyon could be a bit faster but not a high speed lift.

Bear as a HSQ is ridiculous. That would literally be a 3 minute ride.

And probably longer than every high speed in the Midwest.
