I'm getting the itch. Might try to sneak up to Killington next Wednesday, and $70 lift tickets look like a bargain these days. If they've got two TTB on Snowdon as well as Great Northern or something on Ramshead (maybe even Skyelark? I can dream.), I'll probably go for it.
Skylark definitely wonโ€™t be open to the publicโ€ฆ

I had a pleasant day at Killington. Snowmaking was shutdown pretty much everywhere but Superstar and Skye Lark. I think the clear message is: "everything for the World Cup" and a few crumbs for their loyal customers. The good news is that their nearby Epic competition; Okemo, Stowe and probably Mount Snow will be opening this weekend - all will be T2B.

Hey guys, it's Killington There is a strong reach around effect. What's blown onto upper SS will swirl back to skylark. Let's just be thankful for the extra hydrants on the base of SuperStar.

"Way to trash the competition and push our EPIC agenda! You are a loyal foot soldier! Check is in the mail."

Yes. We saw your crazy post the first time and decided not to respond. Posting the same thing again is not going to change our minds. :ROFLMAO:

Belleayre on Thursday for passholders. Is that EPIC or poking the bear? I might go.
I can't imagine why I wouldn't go if I were within a couple of hours and had a season pass. It feels good to get out and put some mileage on the legs, so we can be ready when the good stuff comes along later in the season!

How crowded does Killington get over the World Cup / Thanksgiving weekend? We are planning on trying to get a day of skiing in before the holidays to break in some new equipment. I'm looking at Windham and Stratton too but prefer Killington assuming the crowds won't be too bad. Has anyone skied there during Thanksgiving weekend?

Skiing isn't bad but parking is another story

Truth! Since if you think about it from a parking perspective, they'll have somewhere between 75 - 100% more folks there watching the races than on their busiest skier/rider day of the season

Mobbed. 30,000+ people up there - most are not skiing though.

not sure where I read it, but it was said the be the largest single gathering in VT history? Hard to believe with concert events , etc. 30,000+ last year.

It wouldn't surprise me. Its as busy at it gets. Its fun, but sometimes the idea of a more chill weekend with some skiing and hanging out seems nice too.

One thing for sure - if you go to Killinton that weekend you have to embrace the party/crowd etc. If you go up thinking you are just going to ski a bit and chill you will be sorely dissapointed.

Killington has always combined the totals for the weekend when touting WC attendance. "30,000 people went" means 16,000 went Saturday and 14,000 went Sunday. It is not the biggest day of the year, but it is quite the event.
