Disappointing is the only word that seems to fit with how things are going. As of 4:00 today nothing blowing down low except skyelark. Heard there was another blowout on lower bunny. If so why aren't guns going on chute to the bubble?

There are other options that would achieve the same thing (get back to K-1) but depending on where the issue is on Bunny that is their Snowdon feed line so it doesn't matter.

But hey, the Cup is full speed ahead πŸ™„

If these issues don't accelerate a serious investment in snowmaking I don't really know what say.

Read through KillingtonZone and they're losing their collective minds over there - as they should. I'd be absolutely pissed if I was shelling out for their insane pass rates just to get three weeks of 500 vertical blue runs with no resurfacing or attempt to appease the paying public. A mountain that touts excellent snowmaking should not be limited to two trails of snowmaking at a time and leaving the entire rest of the mountain bare.

Not sure if I'll ski Wednesday. Not going if there's not top to bottom off North Ridge and the Snowdon bubble, which seems very unlikely. Maybe I'll wait until Sunday and hit Belleayre, they were amazing last year early season.

Auctioned off a kidney for a K1 parking pass for the World Cup on Sunday. Wondering if it is feasible to both watch the World Cup and take a few runs myself (assuming top to bottom is open by then) ? Or am I going to have to wait at a security checkpoint for an hour every time I try to re-enter the grandstand ? Is re-entry even allowed ? How is it walking up the grandstand stairs in ski boots ? Any concerns about theft of equipment with the huge crowd ?

I have been to 4 WC cup races at Killington. I tried to ski at the 1st 1 I went to (it was actually on my birthday and I wanted birthday turns!) Got 1 run off of K1 down to the base that day in total(they were T2B then). Never even thought about trying to ski the next 3 times went. It can be done, but IMHO not worth the hassle as even when there's not a racer on course, the entertainment is still fun to take in.

Just my 2 cents

Agree with the sentiment- not really worth trying to ski. Maybe if you have a parking pass and use your car as a lodge - but the lodge / base area / shuttles are a total shitshow.

Old school!
Ski Totes are even older . I kept the cable with the combo lock that came with it when the plastic part broke. I string the cable through the ski brakes and around the ski rack when I use my newer skis. I don't lock my 20+ year old Volants. If someone steals them...oh well an excuse for newer skis:ROFLMAO:

I've been enjoying KillingtonZone's fury over the Killington snow report starting with "Howdy Beast Fans". After changing it up for the last few days, the howdy is back (and looks like they're making fun of those posters, given the winking emoji) and they're already complaining about it.

That opening (β€œHowdy Beast Fan’s”) is not grammatically correct. There should not be a β€œ β€˜s β€œ.

I don’t understand why a lot of ski areas delegate snow reporting to essentially an unpaid marketing intern. It’s an important PR function.

KZone vs the Killington Locals FB group is such a funny comparison as well. One is sycophantic Jerries while the other is nihilistic doomers
I look at Kzone folks, like NY Yankee fans... There's no denying their historical greatness. They have an arrogance about themselves for the love of their "team". But their "team" can go through ebbs in their performance and when that happens, they can't accept reality.. sooner or later their team will rebuild to the top of the heap via spending a bunch of money like few others can though

I have a couple of β€˜ski keys’ as pictured above, but there seem to be fewer and fewer compatible racks. What do most people use ? I was looking at this, is 3 feet long enough ? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WM3T7C
Split your skis and make sure no one sees you Walk in the lodge and then walk back out and look for folks lingering and eying your stuff. Never had my skis walk away. Did lose a boot holder at Cannon many years ago.

Pro tip of the day: take some bright finger nail polish and mark all of you equipment and take a picture of anything will a serial #,

I've atayed at a motel in Killington and a worker wanted to sell me hot skis. :cautious:

What a senseless waste of life.
