Superstar and Skyelark to remain closed until December 8th due to ski club training.

No doubt in my mind that killington is no longer the obvious early season choice. So many areas have more terrain and will until the 8th.

They were the first to open anything though. So I guess they are the early early season but not early season go to.

Was just looking at the Superstar cam and saw Skyeship cabins flying by in the distance. Seems odd...maybe they're bringing some of the course workers up the back way?

IMG_3595.jpegLast week I looked at the long-term forecast and chose today at K for my 2023/2024 Day #1. It turned out pretty fine (more luck than genius, I know). The drive home was a different storyโ€ฆ

They took the Snowden 6 out of the mix for snow making reasons, and ran the triple in its stead. That (which turned people off of seeking terrain only reachable by those lifts) plus the surprise 5+ inches of light flakes made upper Royal Flush and Full House the twin RsOTD.

Thatโ€™s north star. Vagabond was looking good too on natural. Ridge run was a bit more scraped up.

only thing I hit all day was on downdraft .

Lot of noise and water dripping out of snow skiers right very top of uppermost Double Dipper. Hope itโ€™s not a blowout tonight.

Usually the fine folks over at K-zone are on call to rant about mismanagement whenever there's a blowout. Haven't seen anything from them. That said, they're busy holding all-caps, bold, giant font arguments over class warfare, the definition of a local, spy cameras, and Killington managements evil plan to kill off the riff raff.
