Just before my spill, I spied the predictable snow patch in Mahoosuc Notch last week. The notion to scrape it out and pelt the next through group with snowballs failed to materialize due to a little distraction I took.

Look close:

Billski..so are you going to purchase a hiking helmet?
It's funny you should suggest that. I had just purchased two hardhats for trail clearing work.

With a concussion and a cracked skull, I have to be absolutely certain I don't fall on my head again for a while, which kind of screws up the rest of the summer's plans for climbing, rafting, roof work, etc. Honestly though, I think I'd only have a helmet on if I had to go through the notch again real soon.

Some extra "last snow of the season"snow stoke

that I kept from MRG last winter in my freezer. Pure frozen goodness to bridge me over into another season. Picture taken about 5 minutes ago. :spread:

How did you get it to stay so fluffy? They usually evaporate and melt a bit due to the constant door open/close. The last time I did it, by August mine looked like a small ice ball.

Kept in the same foam coffee cup I scooped it into. The freezer in my garage doesn't get a lot of traffic. It's a back up unit.
