As I was logging in I saw an ad for Magic Mountain in VT. I have not been there for a while, but after seeing the add I knew I should go back. We all can support our local gems. Not big comercial area, but great layout and trails.

Magic should really think about changing their pricing structure. Who in their right mind would want to spend $56 to ski there. They don't even have a HSQ and their grooming sucks!

Maybe if they made it $54.63 they'd have better luck...

Totally agree. Went last season after the Valentine's Day storm. A re-visit is in order.

I hope they see a nice storm up there in December. I'll be there.

Would they open early if they had a big storm? I definitely have to check them out this year.

At $56.00 Magic is still cheaper than the competition in the area and a lot cheaper than a couple of them. I don't think the new pricing will drive too many people away. I also think the new ownership will draw more people than they might lose. If you're after cheap tickets there aren't many cheaper for what you get.

I don't have any problem with their double chairs. Both chairs take about 11 min and 30 secs (without stops) to get to the top. An HSQ takes about 7 to 8 min for the same length (1 mile).

I heard they bought another grooming machine and hired a new and experienced groomer. I think we should give the new ownership a chance.

I feel the same way, especially the part about the lifts, no need for a HSQ. My post was made in jest, hence the ;) It was in reference to a 'discussion' we had on the forums over the off season...
