Did anyone else try to get campsites online yesterday at the Maine State Dept of Parks website (www.campwithme.com)? Their highly-advertised and highly-anticpated new reservation system crashed within minutes of opening day yesterday and caused a lot of confusion. The reservation system, once it finally came back online, is great, but I'm guessing their hardware and server capacity got maxed out immediately when a couple thousand people all hit the website at 9AM yesterday.

I was just playing around trying to get back in around 11AM, when all of a sudden the system was back online, going extremely fast and I was able to reserve 2 of the best sites at Sebago Lake State Park in July in about 5 minutes tops. I couldn't believe my luck - normally those sites are gone by 9:10AM on Feb 1 (reservations start 9AM on 2/1 every year), so my family and friends are psyched! Right on the sand at Sebago for 4 nights in July - sweet. The Parks Dept must have called the state IT dept and freaked out - I wonder how they got the system flying all of a sudden when it had ground to a halt just a few minutes before?

Did anyone else have any problems with this? Any feedback on the new system?
