Got an email ad from Liftopia today. In it they write:

"[FONT=Trebuchet MS,Verdana,Helvetica,sans-serif][FONT=Trebuchet MS,Verdana,Helvetica,sans-serif]Leap Year means an extra day in February, but more importantly it means an extra day of the ski season."

An extra day in the season? Um, I beg to differ, we still have the snow for as long as we're gonna have snow. If this were a typical season, it would only mean the season would end one day "sooner".

I guess the only water in this argument is if a resort always were to close on the same day each year.

gotta love marketing arguments...

Actually, out West it could mean an extra day at some places since several have agreements with the National Forest Service to close on specific days (e.g., they close on April 15 regardless of snow pack). But in general, I'd agree. It's pretty silly marketing.

Let me understand. I can ski free if I pay $65. Now that's a sale price, right? Down from $85, right? I save $20 right? My wife says never buy things full price, so I got this one on sale, she should be proud of me, right?
I'm s:confused::confused::confused::confused: smaaat!

Quoting my wife (speaking to a telemarketer): "So, help me out here, how much is saving money going to cost me?"

Ha, you caught us...

What we were hoping to get across was that the day gave resorts more reason to pass out some special deals (sort of like St. Patty's day, just another reason to have a promotion). Since we had some great deals from resorts, we figured we would position it to folks that way.

Well noted, however, we will do our best to keep the cheese factor down in the future.

Thanks for the feedback, feel free to send any along my way.
