Anyone else NOT skiing this weekend but me?!?!?!?\

I got married and had kids why??? (just kidding, I love my family.... really)

Long gone are the days of just grabbing the stuff and taking off to follow the storm.

it just occured to me that instead of the above rant being cathartic, I just probably set myself up to hear about all of heading up ski enjoy the fresh this weekend and will now only make me feel worse

Then again, there probably won't be that many replies, CAUSE YOU'RE ALL PROBABLY DRIVING UP THERE NOW!!

OK now I am even more depressed.....this sucks

Don't just sit there, man, do something. :)

Skiing should be great into the coming week. Come up midweek with the family, when it's cheaper. You could get a room midweek with a kitchen that's big enough for the whole family for something like $125/night. Find somewhere like Stowe or the Mad River Valley where there's stuff for the kids to do.

And ski your brains out...

On Sunday, my wife and daughter and I are heading up to Loon. We are staying with another couple that have a 2 month old. Dads ski the AM while the Moms watch the kids. Then we swap after lunch. In a few years, we'll all be able to ski together...

Tomorrow I am heading back up to Berkshire East, hopefully the weather will not make driving to difficult. We wanted to go on the ferry trip to Mt Snow, but a 16 hour long day trip is a bit much for a 5 year old. I also have a discount card that is good for $10 off for Berkshire East and they are forecast to get 4-6" + from this storm. :D :D

I'm with ya....your not alone. I worked, again, at Sugarbush just so my son would get a free pass..which he used and enjoyed...which means it was worth it.

Find a bud in your area who skis and plan a few days at a local hill or even a weekend ski trip. I have done that a few times....it works. I think I am lucky in that my wife and 3 kids ski and ride.

She doesn't know it, but I gave up a day skiing yesterday to hang out and shop with my wife. Tomorrow I'm taking my eight year old daughter skiing* and I really won't be making any serious turns.

I'm beginning to see this as "giving back". I have had a dozen great ski days this season so if I give up a few not a big deal. Hang tight, worst case is that you'll be another year older when you do.

Winter was easier to handle during my non-skiing years. It just really didn't matter if we got a dusting or two feet because I wasn't skiing anyway. Now, I almost feel physical pain when we get a big dump and I can't ski.

* The long term benefits will be when she's older and we'll be skiing together on some great mountains.
