Hunter: amazing morning..
Usual POW day stuff.. Looking for less traveled trails etc... Waiting for Claires to open...
Snow is deep and dense - the wind is howling... But a cold dense... Looks like the crystals are small - coming down smal and getting torn up by the winds.. So the woods is all filled in now with thick fresh snow..
.
Was riding with a patroller friend and heard the call that Claires was open...
Nailed top to bottom fresh turns... (!!!!!!) Snow was between 8 to 10" at that time..
Rode it a few times... Hit Lower K - wind scraped at the top - the runout was sublime..
The Cliff has a nice snowdrift ridge down the center...
Heauga has windblown ridges that cross the trail every meter or so near the bottom..
It's insane...
Lower Taylors (natural snow) is skiable..

It's still puking out.. Will head out for the last two hours of riding after I get some work done..

Saw 180 taking some reserve trail liberties... And he made a good choice...
44 will be skiable tomorrow... I think...

Thanks DMC for the report. Greg that radar right now shows a red spot only a few miles away from Belleayre and Platekill on the west end of Ulster County. As you mentioned their is another red spot further away that looks like it is going to slam Hunter and Windham. H'mm I wonder what that means.

The snow is now getting fluffy again... My girl works in Woodstock and said it was pretty icey.. She's headed up 214 now...

We're definately in the 3" and hour band now.. Not too much wind...

Headed back out at 2...

Gotta work a little :)

DMC - I hope your girl made it over the 214 notch. Here in Woodstock we have been dumped on for over an hour now. If this keeps up we should have some serious over the knee powder tomorrow.

My daughter told me the anchor stores in the Kingston HV Mall are all closed.

Working today skiing Hunter tomorrow. Let me know if Annapurna is opened.

Purna is opened... i didn't hit it...

I think she'll be OK... 214 gets a lot of attention but it can seriously drift... :(

I didn't want her to even go today...
