like i said, i wasnt trying to insult anyone, i was joking.
.

I knew that...I guess I was thinking about some nice people I met this weekend who where skiing WF for the first time. Some people might refer to them as gapers because of their enthusiasm about things that regular skiers might take for granted.

I find it refreshing and makes me think how lucky I am to ski as much as I do.

i'm completely aware of what you are talking about. that issue, as far as i'm concerned, is completely dead. I've never been one to ever comment or use someone's skiing ability as an insult until things started to snowball last year. Not proud of it at all. Our crew, or the CLITS, if you will, has skiers of varying abilities and we all support each other. something i'm going back to. whatever an individuals ability is, we ski to have fun. whoever has the most fun is truly the winner, not the one who skis the fastest, hardest, most extreme or whatever.

in short, i totally agree with your sentiment.

Completely agree with both of these statements. We have a new member to our crew at Greek who at 41 just picked up the sport. He's just now getting to link some nice turns and realizing that speed isn't such a bad thing. The one thing he's better at than ANYONE is being excited to ski----he now lives for it. Even tho he's a "never ever" he's changed the "charge" of our posse simply due to all his enthusiasm.....it's awesome to watch a guy tackle a pitch, or whatever, that's he's never done and be successful at it. Kinda lights up the entire group and gets us all fired up to go.

20, maybe?

Way back in the mid 80’s, before my local area allowed snowboarding, I probably did 20 days in a row. Way old school shit, hiking local hills (whether they were in the city park, cemetery, golf course, etc) and riding my Black Snow Legend 135 snowboard sans steel edges. Most of the hills were in the 75 vertical foot realm, some were as small as 20. Still to this day, they were probably some of the best times I ever had while sliding on snow.

10 is the highest for me.

Basically, most time I go out west, I would go for a week. That could be 6,7,8,9,10 days of skiing depending on whether I get to ski the first/last day, and if there's a holiday Monday involved.

In the earlier days, I tried to get the maximum DAYS in, so I would pick a destination with the quickest access and ski the first and last day. Also pick a week that has a holiday Monday attached to extend it a day. But these days, I'm not so concern about the number of days. So I would go to more exotic destination that might require a connecting flight, "wasting" a day getting there and back. So often times, I only get 7 or 8 days in for a week. That said, I'm going to SLC in a week and a half, and I'll be doing 10 days in a row! :)

I don't ski that hard though. Not a bell to bell type here.

P.S.
I was half expecting to see a lot of 20-30 day in a row response from the more active members. But I'm not disappointed that you guys are just like me! ;)

routinely do 23 in a row- usually with a week off in between. as some mentioned before, some of these days are travel days (ie skinning for miles on a glacier) but that counts as good old quad burning/hip flexor wrenching skiing too.

Since I got back into skiing in 2005 the longest streak I've had was 4 days. Back in the day sometime between 1977 and 1986 I used to do 7 in a row when my family would go to Bromley or the Poconos for the week.

Nowadays if I have a stretch of days off work I sometimes plan to ski everyday but with 2 kids something always comes up.
