Anyone ever been?

I am wondering what the Ticket price gets you ($20 for 1 day/$30 for both Saturday and Sunday) besides the free beer and the souvenir stein. I.e., is there food included? I assume additional beers = additional $$$.

Buy your own food there. $$ for any beers above + beyond the beer tokens + mug/stein you get with admission (note, last year there were a ton of people drinking beer and only a few taps, so 10 to 15 minute beerlines were quite common - hopefully more taps this year!) Listen to the German Music, check out the games, eat some food and just relax and enjoy the suroundings, that's Octoberfest @ Mount Snow. Note, it's not a bad idea to bring a beach chair or 2 with you, since there's almost always way more folks there than seating, and you can bring a beach chair in and set it up and enjoy!

Beers are $4 to $5 depending on kind (according to a MS resource). Games include a horseshoe competition, a beer stein holding contest, your standard keg throw and some sort of apple launch catapult thingie this year. I think there are a couple of bounce houses for the wee ones.

I've heard they were going to address the beer line issue with more taps, distributed around the base area. Hopefully that works out. I volunteer to check out all the lines and will report back on average wait time.

I think I heard a rumor of some Jager shots and wine being available this weekend.

I heard they may have wine too.

Bring your season pass for this coming season and you can ride the lifts (foliage views) for free.

It's a good time; my wife and I went last year. We'll be there on Saturday.

Sounds like fun then...if they fix the beer line issues, it sounds like its worth the price of admission.

Doc, just to clarify, the ticket gets you 1) a single beer and 2) a stein. That's it? After that, its pay for food/additional beers as you go?

Yup. Admission = stein + beer token, and each day you go, you get another stein + beer token. Food is on your own dime, extra beer is on your own dime. The stein goes home with you and will start in your ne place what, atleast in my place up there, has become quite and extensive collection of Mount Snow souvenir Oktoberfest and Brewer's fest glassware! ;)
