VERNON, New Jersey — Mountain Creek's terrain parks have been named among the best in North America by 50 top professional freeskiers, according to Freeskier magazine's February Terrain Park Guide.
Ranked the #15 park in North America by fifty top professional freeskiers, Mountain Creek was also the only East Coast resort south of Vermont to make the list. And beat out Mount Snow, credited with the biggest hit in the East, Okemo and Sierra-at-Tahoe!
Constructing a freeskier-friendly terrain park was a focus of Mountain Creek's Parks & Pipes team this year, although it is a challenge as skier features demand more than snowboarding features, especially with the unseasonable weather this January. However, The JibLab and the Parks & Pipes crew are among the best in the industry, and put their construction skills to the test, brining a one-of-a-kind terrain park to the region. Terrain Park Manager Shawn Orecchio said, "My entire crew is really excited. This is the biggest accolade the program has received in seven years of existence. The fact that we've been ranked amongst the best terrain parks in North America and above major East Coast resorts is a big testament to the teamwork of the Parks & Pipes, Snowmaking and Grooming departments."

Freeskiers from near and far will get the opportunity to see what all the fuss is about at this year's Freeski Super Fling on Saturday March 4th. The Freeski Super Fling is designed to provide an environment that supports freeskiers who have little to no experience with formal competitions. This grassroots event provides a great contest for skiers to improve their skills, build confidence and take advantage of the opportunity to qualify for the Vermont Open. Registration begins at 8am the morning of the event, and there is a $25 fee for both the halfpipe and slopestyle competitions, or a $40 combined fee for both.
