Which day will be best this weekend considering, weather, crowds and snow conditions. I can only make it up one day.

I'm going with Sunday... because that's when I'm going.

Also should have good temps this weekend.

Friday - transition day, improving conditions throughout the day with lots of guns running, and covering up the soon to be bullet proof man-made of last weekend that will get machined groomed in the hour or 2 before 1st chair tommorrow. Maybe an inch or two of heavy cream cheese natural on top. Probably the strongest winds of the 3 days too, smallest crowds.

Saturday - Better, should have a solid 36+ hours of resurfacing by then, with the major stuff covered and groomed out nicely. Less wind, more crowds, but with a decent number of other areas opening this weekend, crowds will still likely be very manageable.

Sunday - best snow likely, lighter crowds than Saturday (NFL games help a little with the crowds this time of year ;) ) forcasted decent weather, and you'll likely get to atleast see from a distance the first time they turn on all the fan guns on Snowdance! And a potential siting of me on the hill :) (depending on the nasal status of my kids )

GSS, 1 run counts in my book ;)

exactly..if you take the effort to drive to the ski area..boot up..and slide on a slick surface..that's a ski day..Big Boulder is open an hour from me with one 175 vertical foot green run with lots of jibs and for me it's not worth it but if it was..it would be a ski day for me..

Go for Sunday

I'd definitely go with Sunday. The temps will be low Friday and Saturday both day and night and the Mt. Snowmaking crew will be going nuts on resufacing the trails. I wouldn't be too surprised if Snowdance is opened by Sunday afternoon.

Time to change the sig..you'll make up for the two run day with a bell to bell day sometime later this season..it all evens out in the end..

Done. Since I had to hike for one of those runs I'll count it.

Back on topic. I'm convinced. With all the resurfacing and low temps, Sunday looks good.

Plus, if you go Sunday, after the last run you can catch a few minutes of football on the TV's in Cuzzin's as your rehashing your day before the drive home!

I wish I was going. Monday was so sweet. I meant I was changing my endorsement to freddy1111.

Monday was so sweet.

It sure was:

I'm in a weird state of mind. Monday was so good and I don't have any definitive plans for my next outing at this point. I haven't started to re-jones yet, but it's a possibility. I need to squeeze in a few more November days...

I'm the same way after this past weekend at Mount Snow..People on PASR were calling me a Bitch because I have no interest in driving an hour to Big Boulder this weekend to ski a 175 vertical foot green trail littered with rails and boxes..But my ski jones are only in check until Thanksgiving weekend..

I'm in the same boat as Greg and Steeze. I'm content for the moment. But knowing New Hartford is going to get some good temps has me pretty stoked.

Because Belleayre is not opening until Saturday I will be getting up before dawn tomorrow for the 4 hour drive to Mount Snow. I can't wait to start the season and since I have to do family stuff on the weekend Friday will have to be my day.

Actually, I could see the fan guns and the traditional snow guns blowing on Snowdance last Sunday morning from lift 9.
