I'm glad that they announced that they were in Middlebury AFTER the fact  Oh well, I will have to catch them another time....
They announced Middlebury before their Burlington premiere

does anyone know when this dvd is supposed to hit retail stores? I saw on their website that the preorders ship out late september? Anyone that preordered receive their copy yet?
Checked out the new movie tonight. One of the best one's yet, right up there with Born From Ice... perhaps better. Yea, I think this might be their best.
Highlights included some fantastic scenes from NH including some shots from Cannon that may drop some jaws, insanely deep stuff in the Chic Chocs, solid selections from Jay, and some respectable powder from Le Massif and hikeable slots abound. Interestingly enough, the weakest powder and tree skiing scene was from Stowe. Hot damn, the Magic scene was sensational. The VT Redneck scene was fun but the skiing itself was a little weak.
As always, I am not big on the park and pipe stuff... but this movie nailed it for the most part. The urban jib stuff was really innovation and right on the cutting edge. I love the "ski where ever there is snow" mentality of the urban jib stuff. Not just 5 minutes straight of the same rail but really working multi-features and jib segments. The big park stuff at Sunday River, Loon, and Sundown was kept short and sweet with some good aerials that even kept me entertained for the most part. There were only two scenes during which I though "okay, let's get on with it." Whereas in past features it was almost every other scene.
So great stuff all around. The only negative I noticed was that while the urban jib and park guys were getting better, the powder and tree skiers weren't as good as in past movies. This was apparent with last year's film with many notables leaving but this year saw another talent reduction in the powder and trees section. Not knocking the quality of skiing or the skiers but just saying it isn't what it used to be which was often times very stunning. Geoff and Rooster provided for some really good powder turns.
I preordered it but I didn't get it yet.
Good review and I can't wait to get my hands on it...This was apparent with last year's film with many notables leaving but this year saw another talent reduction in the powder and trees section. I thought that was illegal. I used to work for a mail order company that sold plants and the only reason why they could charge right away was that the customer was reserving perishable plant stock. Otherwise, they would not be able to charge until shipping.I preordered beginning of September and hav not received yet. I have sent a few emails also. No response. They also charged the credit card immediately.
LOL. That would be a hoot. I don't know if I charge powder hard enough for their style. I could alter the technique a bit. Honestly... I'd rather see someone ski a line beautifully than ski a line really fast. Those tree powder shots are short enough as it is....I think it's time you gave 'em a call and volunteered to ski some powder in the trees for their cameras.

Word. The Crawford scene was sensational. Though the Cascade portion wasn't pretty it was ballsy, and I respect that. Not saying it was bad skiing, just to clarify... but rather that the portion of excellent form chargers has declined a little compared to the past. Which is cool. While I enjoy the aesthetics of making a beautiful arc through the snow, I also appreciate the power and fury of tearing up a knarly line and just gettin er' done.Good review overall. Although I think it's true that there aren't as many nasty backcountry/bigmountain guys, I think that stacey is as good as any of the past guys. The main difference is that stacey doesn't ski with the meatheads everyday at stowe and ski the lines and cliffs those guys were hucking back in BFI and to some extent Schooled. I thought his segment in Crawford was pretty sweet. Personally, I thought that although some of the guys in BFI and other older movies didn't have great form (andrew whitford, Roy Tuscany, erme.) Stacey actually has good form.

Pre-ordered during the last week of Sept and also have not received yet.![]()
Nice to see that I am not the only person having an issue with Meathead Films right now. I ordered their DVD 4-pack on 9/17, my Visa has been charged, and almost a month later I still haven't received my order. I sent them several e-mails asking where my order is, I left them a voicemial, and even faxed them in my order but still haven't heard a thing from them. Some skiing buddies of mine have never had any issues ordering from them, and suggested I e-mail Geoff to see what's going on. I sent him an e-mail a few days ago and am waiting on a response.
I've only seen their trailers and am pretty stoked to see what Meathead has to offer, I stick to TGR movies for the most part but would love to see some NE stoke. This is my 1st experience with them and needless to say it hasn't been a good one. Hopefully I'll get my order soon, but if not I'll be taking this up with Visa to get my money back.
