This is the "Siberian signal" I look for each year. It was good last year, and it's looking great this year! :daffy:

the northern hemisphere reached all-time record snow coverage for the month of September.Eurasia also saw highest snow coverage since the early 2000s. Snow coverage over the Northern Hemisphere is looked at closely because it can have a pronounced impact on large-scale waves in the atmosphere. Higher snow coverage can also sustain larger outbreaks of arctic air and influence winter temperatures. There are many links between a colder than normal winter and higher than normal snow coverage across the northern hemisphere.

Scientists do not know why the above holds true, but there is a statistically significant link to early Siberian snowcover and northeaster US winters.

As JB stated, that's the frustrating part in terms of long range forecasting..... research has not been focused on the natural variability in climate change.

btw..... ULLR must be happy!

Unfortunately the policies of promoting friendship around the world by the big banks aren't very helpful in visiting Siberia...;-) Only for the rich..who don't have a clue to what is beautiful ski country...

Last year link to a boston channel of Cohen talking about the siberian correlation. If you google search, he published some papers which talks this. The guy has a stellar background as well.

disclaimer for the political police:
1. The feds has not been discussed.
2. This correlation is a relativity new one, so the history on this is still a TBD.

Definite positivity and hopeful signs.

Think of it as a remote version of the Poconos, with more snow and a plummeting currency. Just need to get some lift service and the Siberian AZ summit is a go!

Well the Poconos do have a guy that thinks he's a Russian sniper.
