Certainly not a good sign. Marginal snowmaking temps starting Sunday night with some snowmaking at night possible next week. Skiing at Jiminy for T-day weekend will be a stretch, I think.

Lake Compounce's Boulder Dash is the only Mountain Coaster I recognize ;-) but I still think Jiminy's coaster is way cool (from the photos). I can't wait to try it someday.

While I don't particularly care for Jiminy (mostly to do with the wide trails), you can't deny that the money goes back into the mountain every year. Fairbanks has greated quite the place.... you can bet once the temps drop they will open as fast as possible. They have some serious snowmaking capacity....

I actually like Jiminy. There are several very good runs in Wild Turkey, Cutter, North Glade (not a glade) and the Foxes. Upper Liftline looks awesome, but I haven't skied it and only saw it open once. The front steeps (Jericho, Whitetail and Whirlaway) can be considered bland boulevards, but all three offer legit pitch and normally some very nice lines along the trail sides. The snowmaking is among the best in Southern New England making Jiminy a very good early season option. I save days with abundant natural for Berkshire East though (far better natural snow terrain). Once you know the skier traffic patterns, you can get a lot of vertical in by using the six-pack and quads effectively. It's a great mountain for logging the miles.

Good points Greg.. there are some good runs...

I have been a passholder of some sort there for I would say the last 15 years, and Liftline is only open a handful of times every season. I have skied it multiple times, it is pretty sweet.

I think the toughest trail on the mountain is Upper Exhibition. Steep as hell, narrow, with lift towers. I don't know about recently but they used to make snow on it, and the man made moguls would set up and stay hard for the whole season. Not fun....

Actually sound right up my alley. Never skied Upper Ex either.
