HANCOCK, Massachusetts — Cold weather is coming and snowmaking will begin Thursday night at Jiminy Peak. Overnight temperatures will be low, allowing Jiminy's snowmaking system to make plenty of snow for the resort to be open this weekend. Opening day is set for Sunday, November 20th, weather permitting.

Operating hours will be 9 am – 4 pm and lift tickets will be $30. All Jiminy Peak 2005/2006 season pass types will be honored on Sunday. The mountain plans to have 8 interconnecting trails open for 2.5 miles and 30 acres of skiing and riding terrain. Trails scheduled to be open include West Way, North Glade, Lower Glade, Upper Slingshot, Lower Slingshot, 360, 180, and Grand Slam. 2 lifts will be in operation – the Berkshire Express high-speed six passenger lift to the summit, and the Novice Triple.

Jiminy Peak will be closed next week for snowmaking and plans to re-open on Friday, November 25th, weather permitting. Guests are encouraged to call before traveling – updated snow conditions are available online at jiminypeak.com or on their snow phone at 888-4-JIMINY.
