We went to Miller Nissan yesterday in Lebanon, NH and bought our first NEW car:

A 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S with a spoiler:

It's silver.

My Dad, big car fanatic, did a lot to help out by going in and getting us a great deal. We came up from MA and test drove it before going ahead and buying it. Ms. Trailboss is so excited! Our sales guy was great. (Brian). The drive up to my parents in VT to store it until our move in a few weeks was good. The car was SUBSTANTIALLY less than the sticker and the other competitors and yet has cruise, AC, spoiler, power everything, and gets 40 mpg :D It drives real nice. We also got an extended warranty on it.

The sales guys did a good job cleaning it up and also did a little 'unveiling' ceremony for us (complete with pics). :D

So we're excited...still plan on seeing me in my blue Saturn, the ski-mobile with good snowtires and all.

Thanks guys! We're really excited and the car is a great value. Now all we need is to put the AZ logo on the side.

I had a short term lease of a 1996 Sentra GLE. They are great little cars and are often overlooked by most car shoppers. All I see in my local paper for small cars is the huge promos for the Hyundai Elantra, Suzuki models and Ford Focus.

Sweet ride. Can't beat the mileage. Is the 40mpg with an auto or manual?

Automatic. It does have cruise control.

So, how many miles on it this weekend?

We bought it new with 81 miles on it. Now she has 211 I believe. Love it considering that our other car now has 107k on it.

Gotta love the low mileage...
Our 2002 Saab has 28K. They're going to love us when we turn it back in next year. Too bad we're not going to go with another Saab- GM has killed them, as far as I'm concerned.

Absolutely- 9-7 is a Trailblazer, 9-2 is a Subaru. Nothing wrong with eaither, I guess, but they aren't Saabs. And the 9-3 not being a hatchback anymore annoys me- main reason I'm on my second Saab. Gotta love a (mostly) sports car that'll fit a 1/2 sheet of plywood.
8 80 pound bags of Quickrete in the back, and still blowing away everyone out of the toll booth. Ya gotta have your fun...

OK, we've been busy getting ready for the move, so I enlisted the help of my auto-expert father, who loved the challenge. We did look at used cars, but after factoring in the higher finance fees, a new car was a better option with lower APR, better quality, warranty, etc.

My Dad knew which models to look at...similar models from Hyndai, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla (I believe), Nissan Sentra, Saturn, etc. The Toyota and Sentra were top of the line...but for quality and price, my Dad said, "the Sentra was the clear winner." Worst model=Hyndai based on reputation. Biggest disappointment: Honda Civic, which was small, poorly constructed, and overpriced in his opinion (and he expressed it).

that is suprising about the civic but everything else he says seems the same as what i think.... when my mom got her car, i did all the comparing and everything for her, and figured out that the altima was the best for what she wanted( i was only 11 or 12 but was an car fanatic)

personally i think toyotas are overpriced... nissans seem just as good in every aspect but are a couple thousand cheaper on average

thetrailboss....I am just curious, since you own a Saturn now, did you consider an ION or did not because of the few dealers in your area?
