I've never been to Butternut. But I hear its groomed flatter than.... well, use your imagination. Sundown's bumps offer a nice challenge and the pitch on Gunny is a good option. I had a pass to Catamount last year. After 5 or 6 visits to the Cat I wished I had did a pass at Sundown.
As that Whiteface ad says - we thought your greens were the parking lot???

Sure you meant the winkie?

Kinda. I don't think that touring is far and away a better option than resort skiing. But the amount of money saved using your legs vs a lift is considerable.

Now I understand why Marc gets a lot of crap. He dishes it out first:flame:

lets think about this for a second. stating that ct areas are all crap, on this forum, is probably a rather fair assesment if you are being assinine enough to compare them to areas in vermont, nh, maine etc. But to point that out is like saying the sun will rise in the morning and set in the evening. Once we get past the mind numbingly obvious fact that they do suck in comparison, we can move on to the discussion you started which was rather interesting to those of us lowlifes who do ski smaller areas on a regular basis. Someday i hope to become such a worldclass skier as to be completely sick and tired of driving 40 minutes on a tuesday night to gape my way down a relatively flat bump trail. until that point in time, i will continue to ski the crap areas in my lovely state of connecticut and do it with a smile on my face.

You do realize you're talking about the same guy who bagged an entire day of skiing because Magic was closed when he got there? Instead of doing what the rest of us gapers did and head to another completely non-interesting hill and slide around aimlessly with all the other losers who apparently don't know what skiing really is. :???:

If you can't say something nice, you tell the truth.

lol, i'll remember that the next i read a tr of you guys hiking up killington to ski 40 feet of frozen coral.

or blindly bushwacking your way around Turtleneck mtn in search of the elusive 2 turn run.

this thread is pretty good now.

What bothers me most is, I'm getting the feeling some people are actually falling for my beswift routine.

Sorry guys, I couldn't help it, you made it so damn easy.

Ahh, man, that was fun. Now I know why there are so many assholes in the world, because being an asshole kicks ass!

I do apologize to billski for fecking up his thread though. Wrong place, wrong time. Feel free to continue, I think I'm done now.
