Nooo, not yet! Pond = liquid  I will think about pond skimming next month.

I've never done it. Is it possible to skim on a snowboard? What do you do, try to keep the nose / tips up without causing so much drag you stop?

i like the squirt gun... get the crowd involved!!

i thnk the most important wart would be the run-in? maybe sit on the tails t get up to speed, and then position weight a little behind the waist?

I borrowed a pair of the fattest longest ski's I could find, some nice large powder ski's that might have logged some runs in the Wesatch range. I straight lined right across about 75 feet of temporary pond. Just crusied right across nothing fancy and I even saw a few snowboarders make it.

Anyone remember Brodie's Slush Jump... Brodie was St. Patrick's king. There was no skimming. The snow cat's unearthed a huge hole in the snow. Then they filled it with snowmaking water and built an aerial style jump in front of it. And you just went for it.... man that was cold. Nothing some green beer couldn't fix though...

I have skimmed several times up at Burke. I am actually heading up there this weekend to skim again. It is a lot of fun. Get as much speed as you can, lean back slightly to keep the tip up and enjoy the ride

done it 3 times.

Gotta make sure you sit back once you enter the water.

Learned that the hard way the 1st time - stayed in the forward "shin pressure" stance and dug in big time as soon as I transitioned from the snow to the water.

I like the water gun - I think I'll do that next time.

Hopefully the weather at Burke's Pond Skimming is like today. It is pushing 60 degrees here at the moment and it is nice and sunny. Great corn conditions setting up for the weekend. Nights below freezing and wam (40s) during the day.
