Ragged Mountain for 2009-2010......who's with me?

Lots of local families are making the switch from Sunapee to Ragged. Hard to pass up the deals but.......harder to pass up the seeded bumps at the other mountain :wink:.

I'd be up for a day or two at Ragged though. I'll hit you up later in the season.

Sunapee is only about 15 minutes further and indeed Goose Bumps got a bit of consideration. The cheap pass price at Ragged gives me the wallet wiggle room to head over for NH resident Sundays at Sunapee. Had a blast the one time with Pat and Steve O. Hope to catch it again at least a couple of times this season. Now if only someone would convince Cannon to offer a Sunday deal.

A big attraction for me about Ragged are the woods of which I've barely sampled any.....perhaps 5% of their offering when I was there last year.

Unfortunately, it's not in what I'd call a snow belt and is low elevation. Seeded bumps are essentially an option to put an entertaining product in front of advanced skiers as long as the temps are below 32.

I've always been tempted to try New Canada road as a shortcut to Ragged. How is it in the snow?
I never wanted to chance an adventure at risk of losing out on quality skiing time.

Took it last year when it was warm. It was ice and mud with ruts. It is after a storm and cold. My FJ Cruiser is silver and I got home it was two tone silver and brown. The skid plate was caked with mud at the next oil change. It does cut off time though.

Never really considered it. Even so, it'd only save like, MAYBE 5 minutes? I think it'd be a wash.

imo, Ragged has more variety of terrain to offer than Sunapee. The only thing hurting them has been snow making during bad spells. Previous ownership was tight on spending due to the debt they had on the place.... prolly the reason the place has new ownership.

May the upcoming season treat them well. damn, I'm getting the jones thinking about this.

Not really. Sunapee does not have the flat run out on every run like Ragged does. The trees are better, that is it.

I'd like to see renderings of what they had planned at Ragged for a third peak. I've never seen any drawings. It was only this past winter that they officially postponed them.
