Very disappointed Phil. I thought we were becoming anti-subaru bros.
Sorry Dude..

Details? Get a deal on a legacy wagon?

The car isn't for me, it is for my son, he has/is replacing a 00 Legacy Sw. The original plan was to give him my 09 Forester at the end of the lease but he really doesn't need something that big, so my wife had the bright idea to buy him a new car now..since we planned on just doing this when he graduates anyway, so why not do it now when his car is worth the most and since she is paying for it..who am I to argue. Since Ty is't much of a car guy, I took him shopping. for a car that met his criteria..smaller than his wagon, not boxy but with room. this pretty much narrowed ot down to 5 door HB's. Since that list is short, we looked at Mazda3's, VW Rabbits and Impreza HB's. It came down to a used 08 Mazda3 Grand Touring, loaded w/ 4K for miles and a new 10 Impreza Premium. The Impreza was $2000 more but considering that is got 2% better financing and I already had 4 snow tires mounted, it brought that difference down to a bit over $1K. So we got a 10 Impreza HB prem, auto for 19,500 and 3K for his 00 Leg SW. IMHO, 3K was all the money for the 00 and the $19,500 is well into the HB on the Impreza.

I still have my 10 JSW TDI on order but will push it back to 3/31 when my Forester is up. At that point, I will have a set of 4 snows on alloys I will want to sell.

Philplug, I'm curious if you took a look at a Hyundai Elantra Touring when you were shopping around. It looks pretty good to me but It's been out for awhile now and I notice almost none on the road.

I do see a few on the road down here and I did take a look at it when I was shopping for the replacement for the Forester. I think the workmanship and design are up with the rest of the Asian cars in its price range. Nice car, quality of materials is not what I was looking for, lots of hard plastic, seats weren't as comfortable.
