Does any have or know where I can find a used roof box long enough for carrying skis? Thule, Yakima, any other brand, I don't care. Old, new, I don't care. I just don't want to spend alot of money.

I have been watching craigslist and as far as ebay goes, I keep an eye on that too, but would rather find one locally.

I live in the Boston western suburbs and locally the Want Advertiser is a nice alternative to EBay. Their sporting goods section usually has a lot of stuff, and most every week it has new listings.

Check their website or pick up a copy at the local convenience store. I think you can get it up in Beverly.

Good luck -

I just bought the new Thule 1200 Evlolution to fit my Jeep Cherokee and Ford Windstar. Small enough to drive in the garage, we just brought it to VT and it held two pairs of skis, two pairs of boots, all our skiwear and my kids small stroller. It was AWESOME and cost me $330 online. The Thule Cascade 1100 is about $75 to $100 cheaper but is a little bulkier and takes longer to attach to the roof rack. I would check ebay and do a Google search (or Froogle).

The best thing about those boxes is you throw all your stinky gear in after your big trip...

No more trips back from Tuckermans with wet boots and gear in the car... It all goes up top now...
