Just some live updates as we are here for the weekend. Picked up a couple of inches overnight and light snow falling today. Skiers right on Coachman and Ghost is very soft. Early runs down smelt and p.bell resulted in some soft stuff. They need a good dump to get more open hopefully that happens sat to sun!!! happy new year all!

Nice! You picked a perfect area to buckle down at for the weekend.

How much would you estimate they need to drop the rope on the upper mountain trails? How is it looking up there with Tricolor open? A report by end of day today with a look out on upper mountain trails would be awesome if you could. Thanks!

There was a ski patroller coming down family secret. I estimate six inches and that is open. Ski school instructor said Casablanca was six to ten awAy from opening. Governor looked like good cover. The big wide one tight line needs a lot more snow. If we could get ten plus sat night I would think some trees and narrow trails that hold snow could open. Tough call on what this storm is going to do!

Also at Saddleback today...we're up through the wknd.....today obviously much better than yesterday which was pretty wind-scoured.
Agree with Salsgang.....P-Bell and Smelt were probably the trails of the day; we found entering PBell at Doodlebug to be nicer as we avoided the rockier sections up top.....finally got the Kennebago Chair open about 1pm
Did two runs up there....Tricolor is nothing special right now IMHO.....more frzn granular then the soft stuff off the double
Agree on the 6" on Family Secret getting that open....I grabbed nearly last chair today there at 3:40ish and saw the patroller scoping out the trail......It wouldn't surprise me to see that open tomorrow at some point.
Ran down Professor last run of the day.....very cool trail, some crusty pow to break up/bash through but once that gets skied in a bit should be real nice by tomorrow afternoon.
Real nice turnout today....we skied 10am-last chair and other than the last couple runs had 10-15 min waits at the double all day....nice to see folks coming out to the Back.
It's a paradox for us b/c we want the place to do well and continue to put more $$ into the mtn but also dont want to lose the vibe we love so much about it which is largely dependant on keeping it quiet :)
Couple pics from last run today...one looking Eastward down Green Weaver, the other on the Kennebago Chair

Nice updates, guys. I would be there tomorrow but it is a 4 hour drive under normal road conditions and the storm will be at its worst tomorrow night on the return trip. Just a touch too aggressive for what what will not even be the second best day of the storm. Enjoy it!!!

Just saw they updated this...likely for tomorrow AM
Saying Nightmare Glades and Family Secret will be open but I have my doubts as to the accuracy of this b/c Mickey Finn and Upper Professor were absolutely open late today (I skied them both) and this says they are closed??
Don't push it Steve...plenty of powder days left....Hitting SB some midweek powder dump will make up for missing tomorrow
I'm just stoked we have the winter rental up here and I can roll out of bed and be at the hill in 20 mins.

Awesome. Snowing at a pretty good clip now. Hope it keeps up! Maybe six to ten in the morning if we are lucky! Be interesting to see what the winds do sat pm and Sunday.

Lightly snowing. Upper mtn glades open dark wizard and intimidator. Dark wizard tough to get to drop into governor hairy. About five inches over crust. Lots of snow under crust. I need more snow to make it more fun but expert gladers are ripping it up. Smelt and p.bell skiing very well. Hoping for big snow and winds that turn the lifts tommorrow!
