FACTS!

a 1,600 foot long conveyor lift will zip skiers and riders to the summit which will gain 236.4 feet in height through cinder blocks. 37 more trails, all with moguls, will be named all after Alpine Zone's greg. think greg's green run 1, gregs green run 2, gregs green run 3.... with the exception of Bviberts blue #17. which will have 3 moguls and 113 benches to rest on.

a foam pit will take the place of what was going to be a half pipe so pow hunter can learn spread eagles and 12 beer taps will be placed in the lift line for 2knees.

also included in the plan are at least 12 lights, for illuminous night skiing.

I fear i may have said too much, but can begin answering questions with a little discretion...

 Good stuff!

Classic! POTD. Bviberts blue #17 sounds rad.

Weren't you also planning on a terrain park where you are carded to prove you're 21 or over? That way Jarrod wouldn't have to hang out with kids still in middle and high school.

I'd like to see a diagram of this supposed expansion asap. Why would this exciting news be a bad thing to spread? Even if it ended up not happening, it would create a lot of positive buzz for Sundown.

The fact of the matter is that there are no actual plans. This whole thing was cooked up just to satisfy Thorski's insistence that a mountain is defined by whether it had a half pipe or not.

Nothing to see here, move along...

Or is there??? Time will tell. ;)

the extra 300 feet of vert is very encouraging but where is that coming from? i've never noticed any ridge over there that is appreciably higher then the current "summit". i cant believe it drops down that much further either as the current base is listed at only 450 feet.

I heard of a place that made a ski area out of a rather large pile of garbage once (In MI maybe?), so that's another idea.

That seems inefficient. Why wouldn't you dig a valley at the bottom and move the excavated material to the top? Hit 2 birds with one stone.

Although you wouldn't get the elevation benefit.

wasnt michigan, it was yawgoo valley and it was landfill from a contractor's project.

oh keeper of the great sundown secret, care to elaborate on the vertical aspect? or have you been sworn to secrecy with the punishment being total banishment from sundown?

That's what I would do, but apparently there's some sort of regulations against it...
