Season Grade So Far 2014-2015

I know it is a bit early for many but this thread would have come sooner or later. However, many of you have passed the double digit days of skiing/riding so what is your rating so far?

I have skied more days so far than I have ever before up to this point of the season. I had an OK November, great December, pretty decent January so far (could have used more snow). We have skied 10 different ski areas and only had 2 icy days, We have skied with family and we have skied with friends and most importantly I have also doubled the number of AZoners I have met (The summit will change that too).

So - up to this point - B+.

21 days so far. Unfortunately more rainy days than real powder days so far. Some really good days, some OK days, some COLD days.

Kinda Early to be grading.......but before Christmas is was excellent ! I took a 2 week break and got back
at it last weekend. I went with Low expectations and had a Hell of a good time on Friday and Sunday !
Cannon had some ....well lets just say INTERESTING conditions, but if you knew where to look.....it was some serious
Fun !

An amazing day for the books at Pico on December 13th. Everything besides that was mostly a waste of time. I should have skied more while the going was good.

Overall grade: too early to tell, remain very optimistic with tons of passes yet to use

Solid D.so far .:smash:....one of the worst i have seen
low or no snow except LES areas , luckily i live near the region so we are skiing but not like in prior years

Christmas skiing was horrible , I had a houseful of company for a week who are skiers and we got out ONCE and it sucked bigtime

January has been a continuation of the snow dearth situation. This may have been the year to go south ...ugh i hate the fact that i am even mentioning that . So i hold out hope for a great Feb / March , cmon Ullr GIVE It UP dammit

Bump

Now what are we thinking? Have any of those bad grades gone up? Has for me! A- To date we have nearly doubled our best season prior to this year. While January had a couple of tough days we managed to get some great days in regardless of the lack of snow during that time. The past two weeks have been awesome and it is setting up for a great spring.

B+ early early season and then a C until late January. Now I'd say we're back up to a B/B+ with the chance to go higher if February pans out.

B+/A- before Christmas. C- up until late January. last week B+. Hoping to upgrade that starting tomorrow in VT. See Bolton got 11 and Stowe got 8-10 in the last 24hrs. It should be setting up for a good weekend up there.

Seeing I'm a bumps lover at the Groomer Capital of the East (SR)..not sure it can ever be greater than a B until the spring comes and stuff bumps up easily each day. Sadly... Now I'd say I'm in B- league. One reason it's not an A even though SR has been getting dumped on lately is that I'm not there when that happens, when I do go it's frigid and windy, lifts are closed... And then groomers get so iced, it's dust on crust. Hard to find any non-icy bumps last weekend...or I spent too much time in woods which took me away from trails...but when I did trail it - very little with the lifts that were open. The completely ruined Agony by making horrible snow on top of very nice untouched natural..then groomed it to an ice rink, so the 18" they got was pushed to edges...they should never have made snow on that trail. Bad decisions like that all through out the mountain... I need to move to VT !

Overall B. Skiing right now is as good as anyone could ask for. We also had a better than average December. But the thaw right after Christmas knocks off a letter grade. If we continue our good run through February into March the grade will go up since the Christmas thaw will have less of an overall impact on the season at that point.

After taking a sick day Monday to ski some of the lightest powder Ive ever skied on the East Coast... coupled with the amount of time I have spent at the bar due to the fact I dont particularly like skiing in butt cold weather. I GIVE IT A 10!

Serious improvement in the last 3 weeks, so D is now up to C + for the season so far

It's only mid-terms. Got out early and enjoyed pre-Christmas, it wasn't really planned, but pretty much avoided the Holidays because of conditions and other things. Started to pick it up the last 3 weeks after several 1 day weekends (mostly due to weather). Days are down as of now (wasn't going to set any records this year anyway) but have had some good ones both in New England and locally at CBK. Always get the most of the back half of the season and this year should be no different. Will be in PA, NE or Utah every weekend (week in UT) till the 3rd week in April. Current Grade: B.

A-

Broke our record for the most days in a season and still more to go.
Skied Banff - while not powder conditions that was still a boat load of great skiing
While it was cold for a chunk of the season - found conditions on some of those freezing days to have been the best days
Many discount the season because of the cold - skiing 40+ days - well that is going to happen. If a perfect season requires 27 degree days - then perfection will never be reached.

I take away a few points because by family has been putting the brakes on and it is bumming me out. We missed 5 potental skiing days in the past month.
