It seems in the What new ski areas do you want to try this season? thread, there were a lot of folks that mentioned ski areas that they've been to some time ago, but wanted to revisit. What ski areas do you plan to revisit this season, and how long has it been since you skied there?

For me, I'd like to get back to:
  • Mohawk - last visited 96/97. No excuse really as it's only 40 minutes away.
  • Sundown - last visited probably 94/95. Also close at 30-40 minutes
  • Haystack - last visited probably 95/96. We used to go there a lot in college as they had something like $25 lift tickets for students. Might be nice to try it again before it goes on to NELSAP...
List you planned "revisits"!

Revisits? Well, I would like to visit at some point:
*Stowe (when I can afford it).
*Sugarloaf (thanks for the advice).
*Okemo.

I'd like to return to:
*Sunday River (2001).
*Pico (2001).
*Burke (surprise, surprise. Got to return home).

and

*The Lyndon Outing Club (yep, home for me. Gnarly hill).

I have not been to Burke since 1991. I go by the exit enough times in the winter but have yet to stop and ski it again.

Revisits

In the Northeast, I plan to go back to Killington (there's a race camp there) and to Whiteface.

Out West, if I can, I'd like to make it back to Whistler-Blackcomb.

SkiJay, you ought to get back there ASAP!!! It has really changed since then and yet some things have stayed the same.

Snowmaking: more of it and still great grooming. If you like Stateside's steeps, you'll love the new Dippers off of the summit with snowmaking (on the east side). The crowds are small. Plus, the glade skiing is almost as good as Jay's (esp. the Dixiland into the East Side and the Birches). If you like Jay's glades, you'll love Burke's.

Check out there website: www.skiburke.com.

After hiking a part of the Long Trail to Pico's summit in VT, I now want to ski the place. The last time for me there might of been 1988 or so.

It took me only 2.5 hours from my house to get there, much closer than I thought, but then again this is summer driving.

Well, I revisited Mohawk last season. I'm really glad I rediscovered Sundown which is now only 25 minutes away. Doesn't look like I'll get back to Haystack any time soon. Revisits on the agenda for this season are:
  • MRG
  • Magic
  • Sunapee
I've only been to each of those once.

Sugarbush (last visited March, 2006.... THATS TOO LONG!)
MRG (same as above)
Killington (last visited April 2006, but I've never skied it midwinter and I want to ski everything)
Beast (last visited January, 2004... it was very windblown and icy and not much was open)
Cannon (last visited February, 2005... I just want to ski there again)

i doubt haystack will see the nelsap list any time soon since it was bought by a resort development firm. i don't think they are going to open the mountain this year though, last i heard.

hmmm, i didn't see this thread so i kinda already answered this question in the new ski area thread, but here is a little more detail.

loaf - haven't been to the loaf since i was a struggling intermediate in my teenage years.
saddleback - last year was my first time, i would like to combine loaf and saddleback for a trip.
sugarbush north - last time i was at lincoln, the rock was on a hold, so i still haven't skied it.

of course, i'll be at the usual suspects: jay, burke, cannon, mrg, etc.

As I mentioned in Killington thread, I'm looking forward to revisit there next season
which I haven't been since 1994-95 season.

Other places I want to revisit pretty soon are:

  • Sugerbush (1992)
  • MRG (1994)

Revisits

If I am still living in the east by the time ski season begins, I would like to re-visit Magic Mountain near Stratton and Bromley in VT. I haven't been there since long before the previous incarnation of Magic closed some time in the 90's I think. They had a great super mogul run down the main face. I once fell near the top and slid about 200 yards. It was a really great snow year, and the only thing that stopped me was catching my skiis in some low hanging branches near the edge of the trail.

If the pow is good I want to hit K-mart again. Will wait for a good storm. Last time I was there was less than stellar, slide for life for my poor wife on Cascade.

My revisits for this season
Sugarbush (went once when I Was abt 10 yrs old 20 yrs ago)
Really looking forward to exploring

Smuggs (same wknd trip as the Bush 1st wknd in Feb) I've only skied Smuggs once a few yrs ago when they got abt 8" of fresh in Dec and ropes were dropping all over the place. Really excited to get back up there.

Whaleback: Skied there opening wknd last yr with 1 trail open but I keep wanting to go back. The hill is sneaky steep and I'd love to ski it on a powder day when I have the place to myself
