I'm mad at myself cause I was never a ski bum.

Same here! :(

It's not too late...

I thought that until I had a kid, your perspective changes when you've got someone else to take care of...

The kid aint going to be with you forever...

I know a few older ski bums... :)

Yeah B! And why deprive your daughter of the ski bum life? Since you're mad at yourself for not doing it sooner, do her a favor and let her live the ski bum lifestyle right away! It'll save her future pain like the anger you're feeling for not doing this sooner.

That's how I would present it to my wife anyway  .

I suppose you guys are right.

I don't think it would be a very hard sell to my wife. If I presented her with even a half assed plan to move up to mountains I think she'd go for it... ;)

If all else fails I like Doug's plan of becoming an old ski bum! :D

I'm one scene from "Office Space" away from doing it... 8)
People are taunting me to work here or there - or try this business... All involving getting to ski at some point during the day.. :D

Tell me about it! Every time I see that movie I get inspired! :D I think I need to go see a hipnotist... ;)
Holy quote pyramid!

I was turning 20 and disillusioned. After two fine years of college, I dropped out, backpacked around New England for the summer (of 1997), and took the Amtrak to Utah that fall, never having been out West in my life. I literally had about 20 bucks to my name, had literally the cheapest apartment in Salt Lake City (above a tattoo parlor), and took the bus back and forth to Park City each day. Having grown up cross-country skiing, I learned to downhill in Utah.
There's a ton I could say, but I'd better stop before the nostalgia and voluminous words start flowing!

I was just thinking again today about picking up and moving to Vermont! (I think that happens every time I see "Office Space", which has been on a few times this week... makes me think about how pointless my own job is...)

I think I'd rather be a young ski bum than an old one. Who knows if I'll even live to become an old one?! ;)

I feel your pain...Claudia and I were discussing this last night. She supports any job related decision I make at this point, and she would love to move to VT or NH.

Other than paying my bills and leisure expenses(barely), my current job sucks.

I know of a sweet house going on the market in Hunter.. 4 bedrooms - next to the lake... Views of the mountain...
