Sharing a trail for moguls and racers is not a very good idea. While the two may be separated by trhe gates not being right on the bumps, if a racer goes wide out of control, or falls and slides they do not want to hit a bump run.
If you want to share the run, I think you would defiantly need to separate the two sections with race fencing, but then you have the problem of not being able to bail on the bump run.
For our race course at Jiminy we had the entire course race fenced on both sides, and double fences in certain areas were bad falls are common.

top to bottom moguls on gunbarrel is a great idea - that said, I'm sure the racers would be dissapointed

my vote would be to cut another trail, just like gunbarrel, right to the right of gunbarrel. Call that trail "Viagara" or something ... and bump it up from day one.

90% of the racing happens on the lower section of Gunbarrel. If they stop the bumps at midstation, there might be some bumps far to the right of the course for the first gate or two, when the racer is going pretty slowly. In the instances that dual races happen from the top, they will close the trail to the rest of the skiing public.

1. i'd welcome gunny bumps from the start of the season

2. absolute MUST that you've got to keep Exhibition bumps going. they are a great place for the masses to get some bump time. lots of people won't venture to GB because of the trail rating.

3. how would the winter B or B work? can't imagine gunny bumps, sharing the hill with racing, would be wide enough to run 2 skiers at the same time.
