Happy New Year everyone!

Our paper had an article on the amount of skiers per day. We had a record day over the holidays. 20K skiers on our four mountains. Do you know how that compares to areas in you neck of the woods?

just wondering.

I believe K-Mart regularly tops 20K on busy days.

I can remember back in high school Okemo claiming to have exceeded 12k during a holiday stretch. They've added considerably terrain and lodging, so I wouldn't be suprised if they exceed 15K on a busy day.

I believe 10k is par for a busy day at Stowe.

No numerical idea but I'm quite certain that Snowmass alone would have much more terrain than Killington. Isn't Snowmass the 2nd largest single resort in CO and among the largest resorts in the US? So combined with Aspen, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk so for the same number of skiers at the 4 mountains at Aspen compared or Killington, Killington would have much higher density. I always read that one of the great things about Aspen is that the mountains are rarely crowded.

Vail will do between 25-28K on the the very busiests days. Normal would be more around 12-18k. The best days are when there are only 3k tickets and passes scanned and a big chunk of those are employees riding to work. You can do a lot of skiing without seeing anyone else on the slopes :)

PCMR had ~14K on it's busiest day.
DV sold out @ 6.2K.
The Canyons, don't know, but it usually runs ~1/2 of PMCR so ~7K.
