This is a good link for Mount Snow fans:

http://www.skiernet.com/mount-snow.html

I used to ski Snow quite a bit back in the day. Ever since my revisit last season and all the great news coming out of them this summer, I'm more excited to ski there than I have been in a while. I suspect they are going to emerge as new favorite this season.

Wow! There's quite some detail in there. I feel real good about this upcoming season with new management at MS. Glad I picked up a pass. Thanks for the find, Greg.

Thanks for the link Greg- This truely is an insiders guide. My wife and I own a condo at Mount Snow so we're there almost everyweekend. We use many of the techniques mentioned in this guide for avoiding the crowds. There are some really great trails and even on a busy weekend you can find yourself alone or at least get away from the masses. I skied Ego Ally on a Sunday last year in foot deep powder all day, just me and a couple of others were using the trail all afternoon.
Good write up.

Ha, I found that exact page yesterday randomly. Someone def. has skied there quite a bit and that is a great guide. I would echo most of what the person says. When the Sundance and Ego lifts ran they are a life saver.

Here is an interesting link that someone found on K-Zone:
http://www.anr.state.vt.us/dec/fed/damsafety/docs/noticemtsnowmap.pdf

Of particular note, all trails currently without pipes are listed as "additional snowmaking". Going to be interesting if they ever get that pipeline.

Can't wait for next season.

Terrific site. Best detail I've seen.

My wife and I own a timeshare at the Summit. Lucky enough for us, we ski only midweek. We'll make good use of the info here. Thanks for the post.

I skied mount snow twice a week during my college years. This guy made a few really good points. I will give away one secret to mount snow. If you happen to be there on a powder day and the rope is still up on Uncles's, DUCK THE ROPE!! This is.n't a steep trail by any means but really fun before they groom the natural drops out of it.

Anybody done this before? I've never had so much fun on a blue square.

I haven't been to Mt Snow since Mar 08. Went with friends who were "swapping" vaca locations. Mt snow folks were trading the weekend for a weekend @ our friend's cape location in the summer.

My wife hated it...really late in the season...corn snow...and her skills were NOT good. She made two runs and headed for the house. I skied by myself. The place was about empty and I hit that wide trail to the skier's left...picking my way past the bare spots.

I think that was the forst (and only) time I skied in shorts. That corn was tough on the shins (as it came up off the bindings).

I almost made it back this past season for an AZ event...but work was just too busy. Next season should be very different!

nice find greg. some interesting stuff about Jaws and how part of it is now plummet. Not sure about the rerouting of ripcord since it was renamed though. I skied it when it was still called slalom glade in the 80's and it seems exactly the same now. but my memory does suck.

We drive down from Killington on midweek powder days. With heli skis, all that intermediate terrain is fun to float on and their customer base doesn't ski powder.

Thanks for the thread Greg. Didn't really read the review. Not many can tell me something I don't already know about skiing this hill......................................... another try at an AZ outing should be in order.

The Valentines Day storm this year was hilarious up at Mt Snow. They had 40 trails open in the AM, 100+ open by noon. I think my friend and I skied 7 trails before they had their ropes dropped. 8) Jaws was one of those trails and I know what you mean.

I did do this. It had to be 10 years ago when I was in college during an early season storm. It was lots of fun. I loved how the trail would just drop out from under you in places.

It's a fun Mtn but it would take some dynamite or a major tectonic event to make this a challenging mtn

I don't think I have ever seen anyone claim it was a challenging mountain? There are plenty of other places in the East if you're looking for some "gnar". Besides the obvious cruisers, the goods are definitely there if you look for them, and the friendly atmosphere of the mountain brings me there.

The newer gladed areas make the North Face and backside nice to ski, even a few days after a storm. The Trials area next to Olympic holds a lot of snow and is large and fun. I've just started skiing Mt Snow again after about 12 years, and I like the potential of the moutain for glades and holding snow among the evergreens!8)
