Not saying this was a good idea, but here is footage I got skiing off the backside of Sunday River on April 4, 2014. Was it worth it from a skier's perspective? No. Was it worth it from an adventurer's perspective? Possibly. I admit there were several moments near the top where I almost turned around and hiked back. I'm not going to recommend anyone do it, but if you do do it, please ski with at least one other person (unlike me), and carefully study maps of the area beforehand. There's some very large cliffs back there in some spots.
Unfortunately the conditions combined with my bindings being a bit loose made the run more difficult than necessary. I also erred on the side of caution several times to avoid the possibility of cliffs. The run took 40-45 minutes, but I cut it down to 23 minutes.
Hope you enjoy!
