Can anyone with first hand experience or a trustworthy source comment on the snow conditions at Sugarbush?

- How is the powder, dense like everywhere else?
- How deep is it? Is it getting tracked out or are there plenty of fresh snow pockets still available?
- Where is the skiing best? Castlerock?

Any information would help. I will be in the MRG area tomorrow and im trying to decide if Sugarbush is the place to ski and which areas of the mountain offer the most fresh snow. Thanks!

What do you expect?

I've skied the past three days. The mountain got hammered with 4 feet of snow and then high winds. Everything that is skier packed is western packed powder. Phenomenal. The deciduous woods got hammered by the wind and are a bear except for the denser conifer woods, where some softer snow survives.

Thanks castlerock!

So I shouldn't expect any deep powder anymore eh? Thats too bad! I was hoping to still found some freshies (deep loose snow - not untracked lines) on runs like Paradise. No chance of that?

There is plenty of that on the protected trails, that is what I mean by western packed powder. Wednesday was the day of all days.

What'll you be skiing on koreshot? I might see you there. I'll be in a red shell, black pants, black helmet, and 05 Scratch BCs (black and white ones)

Birdman... I wasn't able to find anyone who wanted to ski Sugarbush tomorrow so I decided to pull the trigger and head on over to Burke for the AZ gathering there. I am thinking about skiing on Sunday too, maybe in the MRG area. PM me if you are planning on being in Sugarbush or Mad River on Sunday... maybe we can meet up - assuming I decide to ski SUnday as well.
