Well, it looks like Jay is in the Cloud Forest this week, topping everyone in total accumulations for the 5 midweek days, at 16" Mon-Fri. That is on top of 4-4-5-14 the week before.

The only others ones that seem to come close for this week are Stowe at 11" and BV at 6"

Considering how quickly the slopes are getting beat up and tracked out when we have these opportunistic dumps, this may be another way of determining resort of choice for the day.

Its all in the reporting. Jay always wins. This stuff is getting blown off the trails as quick as it falls. In lake placid we got over a foot this week. The backcountry is as goog as it gets now. Skyward is open and there is a manmade snow storm on it today. Sugar valley glades r open.

I had two different guests this week who'd come from Jay this week who'd had rough days. One said it was very windy and the trails were scoured of all the fresh snow and the next day a couple said that fog covered the upper 2/3 of the mountain to the extent where they couldn't see and it iced up their goggles. So in spite of the extra snow, it doesn't seem like it brought better conditions.

(To be fair, the people coming from Jay are usually about twice as likely to rave about the mountain as the people coming from Stowe or Killington. But not this week...)

Just got back from a week at Jay and I can say the snow falls are accurate. But would have to agree that the weather was crazy. The Flyer was closed Mon - Thurs. The Tram was cloased Sun - Thursday except half day on Tuesday. Both the Flyer and Tram finally opened Friday but not without delays for deicing. Weds the wind was really blowing with a freezing mist the would ice you up by the time you got to the top of the Bonnie. On Thursday the sun was coming out on the Jet but was snowing over on the Bonnie.

All that aside once you got into the glades the skiing could not get much better. Knee deep powder on many of the days.

Might want to put Saddleback up there as well, 3-5 inches last night, 2 or 3 the night before and measurable snow each night prior to that for the week.
