I tried cooking corn on the grill for the first time last week, it was really good. I didn't soak it though, what do you soak it in?
We just soak it in water so that it doesn't dry out and the husk doesn't catch on fire.

Thanks, I haven't had any problem with dry out or catching fire, but good to know.
You gotta soak! We usually soak for at least 30 minutes. It sort of acts as a steaming effect. Keeps it much more moist.

What kind of dope schedules training for Friday afternoons??? :-o That just seems cruel...

Good question!! No training of any kind should be scheduled for Fridays. People just forget it immediately over the weekend.......rookies.......

I dont gotta anything! :) No, I've cooked corn twice last week and it came out really good without soaking. I have a charcol grill with a shelf in the cover, I lay the corn on that shelf so it's not too close to the fire. With the cover down, the grill heats up to about 350-375 deg and that worked fine. Corn wasn't dry or burnt, but was good! Maybe I'll try soaking next time.

I'm stuck working.. But I'm home after traveling all week..
If it doesnt rain - going to make some turns tonight..

OH - and soaking corn allows you to cook it really close or even in the coals.. So the husks singe and you get the husk flavor in the kernals..
When i camp I soak the corn and stick it right in the coals... Then dip it in butter.... mmmmm...

Soaking the corn is essential. The flavor is like nothing you have every had. When I use to work at the ski resort... We all had the same days off and had like an 8 hour BBQ with the mountain cooking artist leading the charge and I was introduced to Indian cooked corn. Always a favorite. You have to be patient. I cook it slow for about 35 to 45 min. If you ever hangin with me in a parking lot... thats what I'm doing.

edit I saw Dougs' post. Cooking in it on the coals is the way the Indians did it. Takes more skill to make sure you don't burn it but even tastes better. (Native American..... Indians sorry no offense intented.) Credit being given not insults.

I'm here...I don't mind at all. Boss and Comptroller are out, so I'll get alot of work done in sales without the usual micromanaging I usually deal with. My whole sales staff is here too. Everyone seems to be putting out good vibes.

Since alot of folks bagged out, traffic was nil this morning and will be nil at 4:30 or so when I go home.

When there's no snow, I like coming to work on days like this.

Training on Fridays/Mondays = DUMB.

Payday here is Wednesday and that's when I schedule most of my training sessions.

Forget it? I wouldn't even be attentive enough on a Friday afternoon to retain it in the first place!

I took care up up north last weekend. Working on my yard all week long. I should be able to use it when I get home monday. Hit the brew pubs for us. Enjoy a tuckermans for me.
I will enjoy a Tuckerman for you and anyone else who requests me to do so. If that means I end up hammered, well, I guess I'm taking one for the team.
