Looks like it is narrowed down to Snow, Stratton or Okemo. With Bromley being the wildcard based on the forecast. I understand that Stratton has what some could consider an obnoxious village at the base. Does this make it tough to navigate from parking lot to tickets to lift? We are definitely no frills and would rather not deal with all that.

Also, someone had mentioned Gore. I have always been interested in trying it out. That said, a cursory look at the map doesn't snow many trails for my daughters ability off of the top. I neglected to mention that requirement- Looking for as many blues/greens as possible from the top.

Thanks again. It is interesting to see each posters allegiances appear in their answers. Amazing how connected we each get to our favorite mountains. Back when I had the time and means to make many ski trips, i remember regularly driving past arguably bigger and better places to ride at my favorites. You couldn't pay me to try something new.

Okemo offers alot of really nice long intermediate slopes (long when compared to central PA!) the "advanced slopes" are not much of a step up and could be a good confidence booster for your daughter.

I have never skied Stratton or Mount Snow, so I can't really comment on them.

Hey Jimmy. Just noticed that you are in Dillsburg. I'm from Fairview Park/Reesers Summit. Did you see Roundtop blew some snow Monday night? Albeit it was just enough to get them through this closing weekend, but I was still impressed that they did it.

Gore is nice but i think South Vt areas are better for familys, mt snow has north face for mild experts, and waffle on the hill. Okemo was a great ski instructions for kids especially.

Sure Did. Of course I couldn't got out yesterday... I will hit it up this weekend, both days and that will be it for me this year. Lowest total days since I started skiing regularly again in winter 2004-2005.

As much as I like Bromley and Magic (much more so) , I think Stratton or Okemo is a better bet. To avoid the"obnoxious" village at Stratton park over at the Sun Bowl lodge.

I did two and a half days at Stratton a couple years ago. I had planned on heading North after one day, but there was more snow at Stratton, and it was plenty cold there. How cold was it? It was so cold, I skied with a guy for an hour before I found out he was African American..thought that was pretty funny. Stratton is a good family mountain, especially mid week.

The fake village didn't bother me, I had the best crab legs I've ever had at the bar, they were huge. They were running a $59 ski and stay package at the time, probably have something similar in this lean year. It wasn't challenging, but it was fun.

i'd vote for drive to and stay in Ludlow. Ski Okemo and on the last morning pack up and drive south to Statton for the day and head home from there.

Stay in Ludlow and bounce between Stratton, Okemo and Mt. Snow. Similar terrain with each resort offering something a little different.

I would stay in Manchester and ski stratton and Bromeley.

Manchester is a bigger town, also closer to you coming from south and west.

Staying in Manchester doesnt make the most sense - that's 45 minutes from either Stratton or Okemo over bad roads and Mount Snow is out of the picture. At least if you drive to Ludlow to start you're in the same town as one mountain and much closer to the other two.
