OK, so we went to Okemo on Saturday. No trees or natural in play so I don't think a full trip report is in order...not sure what to say other than nicely groomed in the morning, very crowded, and scratchy in the afternoon.

From an intermediate's perspective, I guess I would look at Okemo as being like a good vanilla bean ice cream. Enjoyable but plain. Was worth going and I can see why it's popular with the masses.

Was a shame to see Ascutney shut down. Looked like the trails up near the top could be challenging although overall the area looked a bit small.

Hadn't seen this thread earlier. Only been to Okemo 1 time. We went on a busy weekend and it was, well, very busy. Terrain seemed very good for varying levels of intermediate, but we didn't find any real love. I'd ski there again but wouldn't really go out of my way to go there again.

Ascutney is steep and narrow in spots up top......sort of a watered down version of Magic terrain wise but similar setup.....hopefully they come back someday

I always liked Ascutney, Magic to, both have good terrain. The problem with them is low base elevation & they're not inside the main snowbelt of the greens.
