I wanted to share this here on Alpine Zone.
I'm really bummed about this
Thread on Epic Herehttp://forums.epicski.com/showthread.php?t=69178
I have been victimized. At the end of skiing today at Okemo a pair of my demo skis were stolen: 2009 Hart Twisted Twins 176 cm w/ Marker 12.0 Speedpoints. These skis were center mounted. This pair is probably the ONLY pair on the east coat. I am not sure if the karma-less creeps are dumb enough to ski them this season, but if you are out and about, please keep an eye out. Also, if you are in any shops, please mention it to the techs to keep an eye out. Note alos the little black line by the speedlock dial, that is a distinguishing mark, also being the only pair of these around is a sure fire red flag.

Of all people I would expect Philpug to lock up his skis..or use the ski check.
Agreed. He has a lock and usually uses it. This was one of those moments I'm sure, he'd like to have back.

Good guy. Bad situation.
As epic said on Epic...........The good news about this theft is that hart has a product worth steeling.
Dumb logic, but the only bright side to this, perhaps.

Wow, that stinks! These were demo's? Now does he have to pay for them????

Not sure of the situation but many people have pairs of skis that were former demos. I have a pair of public enemies that I snagged on ebay with demo bindings on them. The attraction to thieves is that the bindings can be adjusted for anybody and there is no remount needed for the prospective buyer.

Disclaimer: My skis bought on Ebay were bought from a shop that was unloading them for the season, not a thief. I don't ski on bad karma. ;)

The reps have to buy all of their demo's before the demo season starts then they sell them after demo season is over. The dont pay much for them, but they pay for them all.

These were demos. Philpug is a Rep for Hart Skis

This is true. The Reps have to buy the gear, including bindings. Some manufacturers may have different Pricing Scales for their reps, than others, but all pay for the gear.

Thank you for the posting here. Yes, these skis are my financial responsibility. If anyone does come across these or see them on the hill next year, let a resort employee know. At this point, they are the only center mounted Twisted Twins on the east coast. If found, swag will be coming your way.

Bump!
The Stolen ski alert at SR today reminded me of this.

Now that the new season is upon us, perhaps someone will see these out on the slopes.
Even though Phil no longer reps for Hart, he is still out $$ for these skis. Would be nice to catch the culprit!
You know where to find Phil if you see 'em.
