Ski Area: Stratton Mountain, VT
Conditions: Beautiful Corn Snow!
Trip Report: What a great day of skiing!!! After attending to some nearby work related obligations in the early morning I managed to get out on the hill around 11am and skied until around 3:30pm and logged a healthy 26,000 feet of decent today.
The temperature had been down in the teens and low 20's overnight so the snow was just beginning to corn up nicely when I arrived. I basically followed the corn snow all day long based on exposure and elevation and seemed to find almost perfect spring conditions on each run right up to the end of the day.
I was impressed with the amount of snow left on the mountain. Most trails are still edge to edge and I was even able to make a ton of quality turns in the trees. Pending the weather, the conditions should be great for the last weekend of operations.
Here's some pictures.....
