Anyone been up there lately? Know what is going on?

I am curious to know why Timberline is not running and what happened to White Nitro Ext. There was a lot of snow on it three weeks ago, and they got some more I imagine. Is it icing? Lack of cover? Lack of crowds? Wind? Any hope of getting some more stuff going before Reggaefest?????

The latest snow report map.

The word is that Timberline is closed due to lack of snow at the unloading terminal, which has a history of having snow being blown away from that area.

The latest forecasts that I have seen call for 12-18" of snow by Easter sunday, but it may be too late in the season to reopen Timberline.

I will be skiing there on friday/saturday so hopefully there will be summit access by lift.

Misery Whip bears a striking resemblence to Burke's Shoot:

You knew that was coming  Although MW is not groomed I would imagine and gets bumped up. Shoot has "gone wild" before too.

Timberline and White Nitro may reopen with this new snow. Conditions were excellent today, its only going to get better with the new snow.

Misery Whip was groomed for the first time this year

Timberline reopening today

Here's Fridays report.Looks like Nitro will be open again.Ya baby!

Today's Update
Light snow last night left us with another inch or so on top of the TWO FEET we picked from yesterday's storm. Yesterday was, hands down, the day of the year, and with temps around thirty and some light snow in the latest forecast, today's not looking too shabby either.

Ropes dropped everywhere yesterday, and we're right back where we were mid season. Timberline is scheduled to run today, and patrol is checking things out from the summit first thing today. Looks like we'll have Nitro and Powder Keg back today, and possibly more.

Conditions at Sugarloaf?

Outragous, Superior, Incredible, Fantastic, Dreamlike, Perfect, Remarkable

I think that about does it.

Today ties February 12th, 2005 with 25" of new snow as my best day ever at Sugarloaf.

If you can get up here this weekend, do so.
