Resort just posted an update. Reopening to passholders (of various types) only this Saturday. Barker Bubble 6 will spin, so it's transformer made it through the water assault on Monday
Of note, the Chondi will not be in the mix for reopening. Just the south Ridge Express. Of note, the carpets survived 😝

Ouch. My plan was to come up on Sunday 12/24. Now I'm not sure whether or not to wave off. Haven't even tried to find hotel rooms elsewhere yet. A major question: is there still snow left on the actual trails? The front desk at the Grand Hotel said they intended to restart the snow guns ASAP but I'm unsure what that will mean in terms of actual skiing quality.

Good to see that they just posted on their social media feeds a picture of active snowmaking saying that snowmaking is back online again!

Glad that there wasn't catastrophic damage to their system! :fangun::fangun::fangun::fangun:(y)(y)

Route 2 in Gorham, NH was close to washed out. Claiming 7" of rain in 12 hrs. The golf course on the left going into Maine in gone.

There is definitely snow on the snowmaking trails still. They are starting now with just Barker/Locke/Spruce tomorrow. Base of South Ridge needed some work, doubt they finished shoring up the retaining wall by Chondi base as yet.

The video they just posted to Facegram is pretty impressive. As noted, lots of snow visible now on the hill, even in places that aren't going to be open for skiing tomorrow. Walking the woods with the dog is another story, seems more like a chilly day in late October than December.

Kudos to the ops team for the work they've done to get open tomorrow, and fingers crossed that the weather cuts us a break next week and stays cooler than forecast.

Slowly returning to normal. Construction traffic up and down Lower Lazy River has been completed, Mountain Room opened today with Peak Lodge opening yesterday. Chondi should reopen tomorrow (cabin loads only to start as the chair load ramp is completely devoid of snow). If we get even decent snowmaking windows this week, Jordan should be back Friday and apparently the AlpenIglu has survived and will reopen as well as Food truck corner.

Jordan back in the mix today, Aurora Spins tomorrow. After that, should see a bit of recovering on open terrain East and with any luck a lot of North and WhiteCap too getting snowmaking.
Based on my daughter's (who's up at SR with her college ski team right now) Life 360 current location, the Jordan 8 is definitely spinning, as I highly doubt she can run uphill at 12/13 mph! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Life 360?? LOL as a young person that would definately go missing the day I got it. People actualy do this?
Not if dad was paying for your cell phone.:ROFLMAO:
Kids today would rather chop off an arm than not have a cell phone.

But I agree it would be a hard pill for me to swallow at a certain age range in my life. Cell phones (forget Life 360) were not prolific in the Stone Age so it was never an issue for me.

Pretty much the norm these days for parents with kids in their teens to have some type of tracking device on their kids phones. Now that both of mine are 18 and older, my wife and I told them they could delete the app from their phones if they wanted to (they have chose to keep it thusfar).

Heck, my wife and I are almost going to encourage our own parents, all of whom are in their 80's, to install it on their phones as their memory isn't quite what it once was.

It can be a crazy world out there these days, and frankly having some ability to help locate someone should something bad potentially happen, is a bit of "Big Brother" watching over me that I am OK with

Never heard of this app before and that's a great idea about aging parents.

My mom has early Alzheimer's. Still living independently with my dad, golfing, going to the local businesses and what not, but I doubt I'm saying that a year from now. We figure in two years they'll have to relocate to an assisted living facility with memory care services. I just texted my dad about it. He's stubborn, but said he'd think about it. Haha. I told him I'm going to get it for myself as I travel to remote places of New England all the time for work. Maybe that persuades him.
