Headed out for about three hours Friday night. Skied Gunny and Canyon first two runs due to grooming in progress. Things were "firm" but edgeable most of the time. Some sugar coating and the occassional cookies, but not bad considering. Nor'easter bumps were quite firm, which lowered my expectations for Temptor bumps. To my surprise Temptor bumps were quite nice, not nearly as firm and skiied quite well. By far the best snow on the mountain that I skied. Only drawbacks were they were smaller and I could not find a line I loved or a line I could take top to bottom. Spent the evening lapping Temptor and largely working on those check turns to adjust line, etc., which needed work, so time well spent. Not a lot of pretty skiing, but definitely good practice.

Nice. Yeah, they dusted Temptor Christmas night so it doesn't surprise me they skied okay. Talk about a mountian that takes their bumps seriously, blowing snow on them before a big warm-up.

Yeah, the lines and smallish bumps are kinda whacky. I suspect that is going to change dramatically the next few days with the warmth and soft bumps. Time to get up there and ski in some nice lines. Shouldn't take long. I know a few of the local rippers will be there over the course of the next few days.

Spring bumps. Second only to powder. Get at it!

Can't get out today. Maybe a couple of hours tomorrow if I play my cards right. 60 degrees= soft and large.

I thought so, but I am not a regular Fri. night guy. Patroller thought it was about average for a Friday, and stated it was the first real busy night of the year.

I was there from 3:30-5:30 on Saturday afternoon and skied Temptor most of the time. Bumps were soft and like you, I tried to find a line I liked, but just couldn't. Left, middle, right all had some funky lines. Was back at it on Sunday morning for a couple of hours, we will get those lines skied in before the cold weather comes back. Spring bumps in December is just a little tease for the good stuff in March and April!
