I can no longer view this site at work because of "Surf Control". I can get around it for some sites by using the links from an acceptable site, such as Snow way to Epic(sorry Greg)(thanks Steve). However that does not work for this site. Any ideas?

Do you have an AOL account? If you sign on via the AOL client. The AOL browser within the AOL will beat most firewalls. I work in a school and the WIFI network here is firewalled. That's the only way I can get around it.

try adjusting the proxy servers in the internet connection properties. There are a few sites that list "free" proxies that will beat most filters. However if the admin is on his/her game they will have blocked those sites that offer proxies. I could likley post a few or give you some in a PM......sometimes this works...

what up with you people that have jobs that you actually have time to surf the web at work!!?!

What's up with people that don't realize that the web is an awesome work tool?

And whats the difference between reading a paper, talking to someone in the break room, or surfing the net?

My cousin lost a six figure job by bypassing the internet "rules" set up by his firm. I say its just not worth it.

It's totally not worth it...
I know someone that lost a 6 figure job due to a questionable email as well...

The more busy i get at work the less I feel like contributing.. Which is a good thing...
But i work for a software company.. We are surfing all the time..

I agree its likely not worth it...especially or a BBS like this....I personally LOVE this BBS, but...if my job blocked it, i'd just wait until I got home.

I was just posting suggestions as to circumvention......

I also agree with DMC on the internet at work...it is a VERY POWERFUL tool and absolutely NO different than reading a paper or chatting in the break room...as long as its not abused, I think, its necessary...

I found my way back. I had to link through The Snow way and Epic, but I made it.
